The Axminster Woodturning SK88 Dovetail Jaws - Type E are designed to give you a secure and stable hold of your workpiece. Perfect for anyone new to woodturning, Dovetail Jaws are the most universal jaw and are a great introduction to faceplate rings and screw chucks. The dovetail design provides a strong and reliable grip on the workpiece as it creates multiple points of contact. With enhanced holding power, the risk of the workpiece slipping or shifting during the turning process is greatly reduced.

The SK88 Dovetail Jaws - Type E feature both an internal and external grip, allowing you to safely hold a variety of workpieces of different shapes and sizes. The external dovetail can grip on the inside of a bowl, while the internal dovetail can securely hold the outside of a workpiece, such as a bowl blank or spindle

As the Essential SK88 Chuck and Jaws are made from EN1A steel, instead of stainless steel like our Clubman and Evolution premium chuck offerings, we recommend spraying it lightly with a dry lubricant on a regular basis to prevent tarnishing. You should do this more frequently if you are working in a damp workshop or turning wet timber.

Please note: the Axminster Woodturning Essential SK88 range of jaws are compatible with the Clubman SK80 Chuck. The Essential SK88 Jaws will also fit our Clubman & Evolution SK100 Chucks as well as our Evolution SK114 Chuck, providing the SK88 Mounting Jaws are used.
