These guides come in either 15 or 25 degree angles and are used to create a non-hollow grind on your skew bevels. They are designed to ride in the slot and provide support in holding your skews at the proper position for sharpening them on CBN wheels that have the grit on the side (the 4-1 wheel or Mega Square). You will need to experiment a little as to the proper hand position which suits you the best. They are not made to hold the tool but rather provide a guide to maintain the same repeatable angle.
